A good antenna is the most important thing to get a microwave radio performance. It is the integral part of the system though manufacturers see it as a necessary evil. Today, the approach has changed a lot with the designers paying more and more attention to the antenna. Smart antennas settle in existing environment and the function and transmission of the system gets optimized. This is actually a new piece of equipment in their portfolio.

In that stratum, the Javelin chip from semiconductor company Motia implements these antennas for Wi-Fi products. This device is grouped with of an array of four antennas. It can widen the range of any 802.11b/g transceiver by four times at most. It can also develop the entire system performance as well as quality of service of the Wi-Fi product.

Generally, Wi-Fi products offer coverage up to 100 meters (over 300 feet). But barriers like walls, floors and ceilings can shorten this range. Reflections from multiple objects and other obstacles can also shorten the range. More over, as the range is inadequate, connectivity speed mechanically drops as signal quality depreciates.

To get rid of this problem, the Javelin is placed between the four-antenna array and the input is given to the wi-fi transceiver chip. The chip uses an appliqué architecture that allows the technology to be used in any access point or client widget.

The Javelin actually outfits an array of four antennas which is similar to the two antenna range configurations which are now generally used on some access points. Through the receive mode, the signals at each antenna are converted to a received-signal strength indicator (RSSI) value. The RSSI is then evaluated and then grouped to bring out the strongest doable output to the amplifier of the Wi-Fi chip set. In case you are unable to understand there are various online PC support companies that help you to do the same.

In the broadcast mode, the signal from the transceiver is separated in four segments. Each of those signals is transferred and amplified by the profile distinct by the received signal before being transmitted. This results in a 13-dB increase over a single antenna. The overall gain mounts up to 18 dB as the javelin is used at both ends of the system.

This fully analog device is compatible with both 802.11b and 802.11g systems and can work with any Wi-Fi product.

Understanding the basic features that a laptop must possess is essential. Here are some of the features that you must look for before buying laptops:

Processor and Memory

A central processing unit (CPU) or processor is the brain of laptop. The faster the CPU is, the the better the laptop will perform. The processor speed is measured in GHz (Gigahertz) which indicates the laptop's speed. A Laptop with 2GHz processor speed is considered good. Another important component of your laptop is RAM (random access memory) which acts a temporary storage for the laptops. A 512 MB (Megabyte) RAM should suffice your requirement if you are looking to buy a laptop for simple applications, internet surfing and for listening and viewing audio and video.

Screen Size

The screen size can be a trade off between the portability of the Laptop though. It is measured across diagonally in laptops. Generally, the screen size ranges between 11 to 17 inches. The larger your screen size is, the heavier your laptop will be. If you need better visibility for your laptop, you may opt for a larger screen size, or else if you prefer portability, you may do better with a laptop with smaller screen.

Drives

The Hard Drive size depends on the storage requirements that you have. If you have heavy files, projects, audio and video files to store, you may require large sized hard drives, while if you have simpler requirements for storage, even 40GB may suffice your requirements. External drives and CD/DVD drives are optional and depends on the requirements of the individual.

Having a virus on your computer can slow down your computer, install spy ware, or let hackers into your computer to steal your information.
Knowing how to clean your virus-infected computer is easy. Here are some tips to show you how.

As soon as you thing your computer might be infected you should disconnect your computer from the Internet and any networks you computer might be on.
This is to ensure that the virus does not spread to other computers.

If you have an anti-virus program installed make sure it is updated first then run a full system scan.
The anti-virus might not detect the virus if the program is not updated.

Some anti-virus programs will detect the virus, but will not be able to remove it.
If that is the case, you can get a different program but downloading it from a non-infected computer or you can go to your local computer store and get a different one there.

Most anti-virus programs will ask you to restart you computer after it is finished scanning. Once you restart you computer run another scan to make sure that the virus is gone. When you restart your computer make sure that it is still disconnected from the Internet and other networks.
The best way to combat against viruses is to be cautious of programs and files you download. Do not open any e-mail messages or attachments you do not recognize. Get a good anti-virus program that is updated frequently and run system scans regularly.

I have a nephew that is starting college this fall and I wanted to get him something to make college life a little easier. Thinking back to when I attended college, I remembered one of the biggest challenges I had was with the large lecture classes.

My problem was that I could either listen to the lecture and remember what was said, or take copious notes on the information provided. If I just listened I usually got a lot more out of the lecture. If I took notes, I always had my notes but couldn't concentrate on what was being said. It was difficult for me to do both.

After a few semesters I finally figured out a way around my problem. I would take notes and record the lecture on a tape recorder. In those days it was a cassette unit that weighed about 5 pounds and was the size of a cigar box. Not the easiest thing to be lugging around but it got the job done.

Before each test, I would review both my notes and the actual lectures that lead up to the test. It really helped a lot on remembering all the details and important information on what would certainly show up on the exam. This tactic also came in very handy when we reviewed the test after the fact and provided a great study guide for any final exams.

I knew my nephew already had an MP3 player but I also knew that the model he had didn't record from a microphone. So I started my quest for an inexpensive MP3 player that was small and light, recorded well from a internal microphone, had enough memory to record for at least 8 hours, and good battery life.

When I started my search, the shear number of brands and models was overwhelming. I never realized just how many MP3 players were available from so many manufacturers. Breaking down the list to just the models that actually could record live helped but there were still a lot of units to choose from that recorded.

The best unit I could find ended up being a SanDisk Sansa model that fit the requirements exactly. It had a Gig of memory (enough for 40 hours of recording), could record in wav or MP3 formats, used one AAA battery that was estimated to last for at least 20 hours, and only weighed 2.4 ounces. It looked kind of ugly but the price was under $30.

Since I got off so cheap, I also got him a small backpack that he could put the netbook his Mom had gotten him (super small laptop) and the SanDisk Sansa. He had plenty or room for other stuff and the bag was small and still light enough to lug around campus.

We had a little going away party for him last week and everyone had brought something to give him for his college adventures. He was pretty excited about the netbook, but he also really liked the idea of recording his lectures too. So if you want to get a new college student something that can make college life easier, a low cost MP3 player that records could be a great gift.

Well according to me every net user has a negative idea but.now we gotsome really special reasons for protesting against spams because according toa report released in April 2009 bycomputer security company McAfee, spammers last year generated a whopping 62 trillion junk e-mails.
That in term of enery means the wastage of an amount of energy which could have powered 2.4 million homes a year or driven a car around planet 1.6 times, according to a report.
And you must also know that waste of enery is also polluting the environment.
Any thing powered by electricity also emits green house gases.McAfee researchers say each junk e-mail emits 0.3 grams of green house gas CarbonDioxode(CO2).That may not sound like much, but when you consider the volume of global annual spam, itall adds up to 17 millions metric tons of CarbonDioxide. The reports say that 80% of emissions came from energy burned from PC users viewing, deleting , searching for legitimate e-mail under mounds of junk.To view and trash a piece of spam takes 3 seconds McAfee said.so from now on i hope u are against Spams.
